"A Brief Primer for Israeli Technology Companies Navigating the US Healthcare Market: SWOT Analysis";
U.S.-Israel Healthcare Innovation Conference - November 29 2011, RSNA
The goal of this white paper is to increase US healthcare innovation and assist Israeli healthcare companies by empowering them to do business in the US market, both independently and through increased partnership with American companies. Of utmost importance for any company is its understanding of the customer, so informing Israeli companies about the U.S. economy is vital in any attempt to expand their U.S. market share. Israeli R&D should focus on creating products that fill a void in the current marketplace as well as bring revenue. For example, reimbursement is becoming an important and controlling concept in the US marketplace; if private insurance companies or the US government (through the Medicare/Medicaid programs) are not willing to pay for the use of a medical device, then marketplace penetration becomes increasingly difficult. Thus, innovation alone, without local US knowledge and US-directed marketing, will not be sufficient for Israeli companies seeking to do business in the US.
